ART OF FASHION DRAPING: TOIL DRAPING“Draping is a process that helps in enhancing the Technical Skill of the designer” Axis Institute of Fashion Technology conducted a Skill enhancing program for fashion students about draping muslin fabric on dress form. Fashion students showed creativity in the fashion draping. Students draped Muslin fabric with various fabric manipulating techniques like pleating, gathering, ruffles, cascading etc. The process of positioning and paining the fabric on a dress form is draping. The Draping process is very creative technique that inspired and empowered students to be more creative, innovative  have fun in the process.. As draping is an intuitive and spontaneous way to create an come up with new design in no time. So draping is imperative for students of fashion design the creation of basic patterns and then advance to more Complex designs through practice. Directly working with the fabric on the dress form also help to understand every adjustment and provides a better understanding of drafting which is making the pattern based on body measurements. Since draping is a quick and easy approach to create and come up with the new designs it is instinctive and spontaneous. Therefore draping is essential for fashion designs students to create simple patterns before moving on to more complicated on through experience.
