Days Workshop: FLAT SKETCHING, TECH-PACKS & AI for FASHION & TEXTILE DESIGN Axis Institute of Fashion Technology (AIFT) recently organized a creative and intensive CAD workshop from October 30th to November 4th, 2025, led by the renowned Ms. Poonkuzzhali, founder and creative Head of Studio PKP, Bangalore.
This Six-day workshop was designed to immerse students of various fashion disciplines in the cutting-edge digital tools transforming the fashion industry today.
The workshop’s core focus was on essential aspects of modern fashion design using CAD technology.
Students were trained extensively in flat sketching, which is fundamental for clear communication of design ideas. Alongside this, detailed tech-pack creation was taught to ensure students understand how to prepare comprehensive design documents that guide manufacturing.
The workshop also delved into the revolutionary use of artificial intelligence (AI) for fashion and textile design, empowering students to explore innovative digital solutions and enhance creativity.
A diverse group of enthusiastic participants took part, including students from Bachelor of Fashion and Apparel Design (BFAD) across 2nd, 3rd, and final years, as well as 2nd and 3rd-year students from the Fashion Design & Garment Technology (FDGT) and Textile Design (TD) programs.
This multi-year, interdisciplinary learning environment fostered rich collaboration and cross-pollination of ideas among students at varying stages of their academic journey.
Ms. Poonkuzzhali’s expert guidance and industry insights enriched the learning experience, bridging the gap between academic knowledge and real-world application.
The workshop not only enhanced students’ technical skills but also broadened their understanding of how CAD and AI can revolutionize fashion design, making them more prepared for the competitive and ever-evolving fashion industry.
