Students Explore the Pink City: A Memorable Educational Trip to JaipurAxis Institute of Fashion Technology (AIFT) organized a 5 days Educational Visit to Jaipur which has vivid hues of culture, craft, history & breathtaking Architecture for Students of Degree BFAD (Bachelor in Fashion and Apparel Design) & Diploma Fashion Designing and Garment Technology(FDGT) & Textile Design (TD).

In a vibrant blend of history, architecture, and hands-on learning, students from Axis Colleges, Kanpur embarked on an unforgettable educational journey to Jaipur, the famed Pink City of India.

The five-day trip, organized as part of the college’s annual cultural enrichment program, offered a deep dive into Rajasthan’s royal heritage and colorful traditions.

The group of students, accompanied by faculty members, arrived in Jaipur. Their itinerary was carefully curated to include visits to historical landmarks, cultural centres, and workshops that highlighted Jaipur’s rich legacy in art, science, and architecture.

Journey started with a visit to Amber Fort which has its historical significance, Architectural beauty which has been a source of inspiration for many creative minds.

In Amber Fort, the students were in awe as they walked through the majestic Amber Fort, learning about Rajput military strategies, royal life, and the architectural genius behind the 16th-century fortress. A light and sound show in the evening brought history alive in a dramatic fashion.

Students Visited Anokhi Museum which showcased a wide range of block printed collections ranging from textiles, tools & equipments. It displays varieties of contemporary clothing materials ranging from rare traditional dresses to innovative designs created by the artisans.

Albert Hall Museum has a rich collection of artifacts including paintings, jewelry, carpets, ivory, stone, metal sculptures, Clothing and works in crystal. Handicraft Workshop was one of the most engaging moments came during a visit to a local artisan workshop, where students tried their hands at block printing and pottery. This hands-on experience helped them appreciate the skill and effort behind traditional Rajasthani crafts.

Students visited Nayla village to see Gotta Patti Embroidery artisan and gained hands- on experience of use of traditional techniques and great workmanship.

Students also paid a visit to Block printing textile & Garment industry, Jaipur where they learnt a lot about the world of block printing and learnt about different manufacturing facilities of the place through an elaborate description & tour of the unit.
