Axis Colleges Organizes Two-Day Workshop on Pharmacovigilance to Equip Students for the Future of Pharma

In a significant stride toward career-oriented learning, Axis Colleges, in collaboration with the Institutions Innovation Council (IIC) of Axis Institute of Pharmacy and Raywings Learning Campus, successfully organized a two-day workshop on “Pharmacovigilance” starting from April 8, 2023. This workshop was designed exclusively for pharmacy students, aiming to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and the practical demands of the pharmaceutical industry.

The primary objective of this workshop was to create awareness among budding pharmacy professionals about the crucial role of Pharmacovigilance in ensuring drug safety and public health. As one of the most sought-after and evolving fields in the pharmaceutical sector, Pharmacovigilance equips students with tools to monitor, assess, and prevent adverse effects related to pharmaceutical products.

Throughout the workshop, students were introduced to the core components of Pharmacovigilance, including:

  • ADR (Adverse Drug Reaction)
  • AE (Adverse Events)
  • SE (Side Effects)

The workshop emphasized how these elements are integral to maintaining drug safety throughout a product’s lifecycle.

One of the key highlights was the hands-on training provided on industry-grade Pharmacovigilance software. Students engaged with various critical modules such as:

  • General Tab
  • Patient Tab
  • Product Tab
  • Event Tab
  • Analysis Tab
  • Regulatory Report Tab

This practical exposure enabled students to understand how data is captured, analyzed, and reported in real-time scenarios, preparing them for future roles in drug safety monitoring, regulatory affairs, and pharmaceutical compliance.

Axis Colleges remains committed to offering high-impact, industry-aligned training programs that empower students with in-demand skills. This workshop reaffirmed the institution’s vision of producing professionally competent, future-ready pharmacists who can contribute meaningfully to global healthcare systems.
