The Department of Civil Engineering, Axis Institute of Technology and Management (AITM), Axis Colleges, is providing practical AutoCAD training to second-year B.Tech. civil engineering students through its well-equipped AutoCAD laboratory. The training sessions aim to equip students with industry-relevant technical skills by offering hands-on exposure to computer-aided drafting and design, enabling them to strengthen their understanding of engineering drawing and modern construction practices.
The practical sessions are being conducted by Mr. Yashveer Yadav and Mr. Ankit Singh, who are guiding students through the essential tools and applications of AutoCAD. During the training, students are learning to prepare engineering drawings, floor plans, site layouts, elevations, sections, and other technical drawings with precision. They are also gaining knowledge of drawing commands, editing tools, dimensioning techniques, layer management, and drafting standards used in professional civil engineering projects.
The interactive laboratory sessions encourage students to actively participate, practice independently, and explore advanced features of the software. By working on real-time drafting exercises, students are gaining new learning experiences and developing confidence in using digital design tools. The training enhances their creativity, technical accuracy, and problem-solving abilities while familiarizing them with the latest engineering software widely used in the construction and infrastructure industry.
Speaking on the occasion, Head of the Department, Er. Md. Shariq, emphasizes that AutoCAD is an essential skill for every aspiring civil engineer. He states that proficiency in AutoCAD not only improves students’ technical capabilities but also opens doors to better career opportunities in structural design, construction planning, surveying, consultancy, and infrastructure development. He encourages students to make the best use of the AutoCAD Laboratory and continuously upgrade their technical knowledge to meet industry expectations.
The Department of Civil Engineering at Axis Institute of Technology and Management remains committed to providing quality technical education through modern laboratory facilities and practical learning. Such skill-oriented training programs help students bridge the gap between classroom learning and professional practice, preparing them to become competent, innovative, and industry-ready civil engineers.
