Where Ideas Meet Experience: Axis Institute of Architecture and IIA Kanpur Centre Begin a New Architectural Collaboration
On the occasion of World Architecture Day 2026, the Axis Institute of Architecture, Axis Colleges, in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Architects (IIA), Kanpur Centre, organised an inspiring and engaging architectural event that brought together eminent architects, academicians and aspiring young architects on a common platform. The event celebrated the spirit of architecture while creating meaningful dialogue around the future of sustainable, affordable and quality-driven design.
The programme was graced by Shri Praveen Mishra, Chairman, IIA Kanpur Centre, whose presence and encouragement added significance to the occasion. Ar. Abhijeet Pratap Singh, Head of Department, Axis Institute of Architecture, addressed the gathering and shared valuable perspectives on architectural education, professional responsibility and the important role of young architects in shaping the built environment.
The event featured insightful sessions by distinguished architects Ar. Rajiv Bajpai, Ar. Chandresh Behl and Ar. Minhaz Alam. Through their engaging presentations and interactions, the speakers addressed some of the most relevant challenges facing contemporary architecture, including sustainability, construction quality, resource-conscious design and affordable housing. They emphasised that architecture today must go beyond aesthetics and respond responsibly to environmental, social and economic realities.
