Life-Saving Skills in Action | BLS (CPR) & Trauma Care Training Conducted Successfully
Axis Institute of Pharmacy in collaboration with the Department of Life Sciences organized an intensive Basic Life Support (CPR) and Trauma Care Training Session under the joint initiative of Young India Society and Pranodaya. The program was designed to equip students with essential emergency response skills and strengthen their ability to handle real-life medical crises with confidence and responsibility.
The training session was conducted by distinguished medical professionals Dr. Sunit Gupta (MD, AFMC Pune) and Dr. Pradeep Tandon (MD, Kanishk Hospital), who shared their extensive clinical experience with the participants. Through live demonstrations and guided practice sessions, students were trained in correct CPR techniques, chest compressions, airway management, handling unconscious patients, and immediate trauma response measures.
The experts also presented real-life emergency scenarios, enabling students to understand the importance of quick thinking, accuracy, and teamwork during critical moments. The session provided an engaging and highly interactive platform where students could practice life-saving techniques under expert supervision.
Emphasis was placed on maintaining composure during emergencies, understanding the chain of survival, and delivering compassionate patient care. The hands-on approach ensured that participants not only learned the theory behind emergency procedures but also developed the practical confidence required to implement them effectively.
On this occasion, Chairman Mr. Raj Kushwaha expressed his appreciation for organizing such meaningful programs, stating that healthcare education must go beyond textbooks and focus on developing real-world readiness among students. He emphasized that life-saving skills are essential for every healthcare professional and reflect the institution’s commitment to social responsibility.
Director Dr. Ashish Malik highlighted that practical training initiatives like BLS and trauma care sessions bridge the gap between academic knowledge and clinical application. He noted that such exposure enhances students’ professional competence and prepares them for future healthcare challenges.
Head of the Department, Dr. Esha Yadav, remarked that emergency preparedness is a vital component of healthcare education. She encouraged students to continuously upgrade their skills and remain proactive in learning techniques that can make a difference in critical situations.
The institution extended heartfelt gratitude to the guest speakers for their invaluable guidance. The program concluded with renewed enthusiasm among students, reinforcing the importance of preparedness, presence of mind, and empathy in saving lives.
