Bachelors of Fashion & Apparel Design (BFAD) Forth semester Practical Jury Concludes at Axis Institute of Fashion Technology, Kanpur

The Fourth Semester (BFAD) Jury was conducted to evaluate the students’ advanced creative skills, technical knowledge, and practical understanding of fashion design across various specialized subjects. The Jury, assessed by an industry expert, provided students with an excellent platform to present their creativity, craftsmanship, and overall development as future fashion professionals.

In “Fashion Illustration”, students showcased their artistic abilities through expressive fashion figures, garment detailing, styling elements, and creative compositions. Their work reflected a strong understanding of body proportions, movement, color combinations, and fashion aesthetics.

The “Pattern Making” subject focused on students’ technical skills in drafting patterns, taking accurate measurements, and understanding garment structure and construction. Students demonstrated precision and confidence while developing patterns for different garment styles.

“Advance Garment Construction” highlighted the students’ expertise in stitching, finishing techniques, garment detailing, and professional construction methods. Their garments reflected careful workmanship, proper fitting, and attention to quality.

In “Fabric Ornamentation”, students explored a variety of creative surface techniques such as embroidery, fabric manipulation, printing, embellishment, and decorative detailing. Their work showed originality, experimentation, and innovative use of materials.

“Introduction to Draping” helped students understand fabric behaviour and the process of creating garments directly on dress forms. Students displayed creativity and technical understanding while developing unique silhouettes and garment structures using draping methods.

“Fabric Studies” enhanced their knowledge of textiles, fabric properties, textures, weaves, and the appropriate use of materials in fashion and garment production.

The “Integrated Design Project” served as a complete presentation of the students’ learning experience and creative abilities. Through this project, students successfully combined research, concept development, illustration, fabric selection, pattern making, garment construction, and presentation skills into a well-developed final outcome.

Overall, the jury reflected the students’ dedication, creativity, technical excellence, and passion for fashion design. Their projects and presentations demonstrated originality, confidence, and professional growth. The External Jury appreciated the students’ sincere efforts, innovative ideas, and quality of work, while also praising the department for maintaining strong academic and practical standards throughout the BFAD programme.
