Civil Engineering Department Marks World Environment Day with Plantation DriveThe Civil Engineering Department of Axis Colleges organized a plantation drive on the occasion of World Environment Day, reinforcing its commitment towards environmental sustainability and ecological conservation.
The initiative aimed to create awareness about the importance of protecting the environment and encouraging sustainable practices among students and faculty members. World Environment Day is observed globally to highlight environmental issues and inspire collective efforts towards building a greener and healthier planet.

As a discipline closely associated with sustainable development, the Civil Engineering Department continuously promotes activities that contribute to environmental protection, resource conservation, and responsible infrastructure development.
As part of the drive, saplings were planted across the campus by Prof. Dr. Ashish Malik, Director, Axis Colleges, Dr. Rishi Raj Kapoor, Director, Axis Institute of Architecture (AIA), Dr. Subha Jain, HOD CSE, Dr. Isha Yadav, HOD Pharmacy, Mr. Vikash Srivastava, HOD Applied Sciences, Mr. Arun Dwivedi, HOD Mechanical Engineering, HOD CE Md Shariq ,Mr. Somesh Saxena, COE Axis Colleges.

The plantation drive served as a meaningful step towards strengthening environmental consciousness within the academic community. Through this initiative, the department encouraged students to understand their role in protecting natural resources and maintaining ecological balance.
The activity not only enhanced the green cover of the campus but also conveyed a strong message about the importance of sustainable living and responsible environmental stewardship. The participants collectively pledged to contribute towards a greener future through continuous efforts in environmental conservation.
The programme was organized under the leadership of Mr. Md. Shariq, HOD Civil Engineering, who highlighted the significance of nurturing and protecting the planted saplings. He stated that sustainability is not just a responsibility but a necessity for ensuring a better future for generations to come.
He also expressed his sincere gratitude to all the distinguished guests for their valuable presence and enthusiastic participation in the plantation drive.Faculty members Mr. Sikander Kumar, Ms. Shreya Tiwari, Mr. Yashveer Yadav, and Mr. Pradeep Mishra were also present during the event and actively contributed to making the programme a success.
The event concluded with a collective pledge to continue working towards environmental preservation and to strengthen efforts for creating a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.
