B.Arch 3rd Year External Jury Successfully completed
Third-Year B.Arch. Students Successfully Complete External Design and Construction Jury at Axis Institute of Architecture
The Department of Architecture at Axis Institute of Architecture, Axis Colleges, successfully conducted the External Design and Construction Materials Jury for the students of the Bachelor of Architecture Sixth Semester, marking the successful completion of their third academic year and an important milestone in their architectural education.
The jury served as a comprehensive evaluation of the students’ understanding of architectural design, construction techniques, building materials, and their ability to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical design solutions. Throughout the semester, students worked on a challenging Group Housing Design Project, which required them to develop sustainable, functional, and user-centric residential environments that respond to contemporary housing needs.
During the external jury, students presented their projects before a panel of distinguished architects and academicians. Their presentations showcased the complete design journey, beginning with literature studies, precedent and case study analyses, site understanding, user requirements, and conceptual development. The students demonstrated how research and analysis informed their design decisions and contributed to the evolution of their final proposals.
A major highlight of the jury was the detailed presentation of the students’ design methodology and planning strategies. They explained the zoning of residential units, circulation networks, open spaces, community interaction zones, and environmental considerations incorporated into their projects. Through carefully prepared drawings and visual presentations, students illustrated their design concepts and planning approaches in a clear and professional manner.
The projects were further supported by detailed architectural plans, elevations, sections, construction drawings, and material specifications, reflecting the students’ understanding of building systems and construction techniques. Students also presented realistic 3D visualizations, rendered views, and interior perspectives, helping the jury understand the spatial quality and user experience envisioned within their housing developments.
The external jurors appreciated the students’ creativity, technical competence, and ability to address real-world housing challenges through innovative design solutions. They engaged in meaningful discussions regarding construction feasibility, sustainability, material application, spatial efficiency, and community-oriented planning, providing valuable professional feedback to the aspiring architects.
Faculty members of the department congratulated the students on their dedication and hard work throughout the semester. They emphasized that the successful completion of the jury reflects the department’s commitment to fostering analytical thinking, technical expertise, and design excellence among future architects.
The completion of the External Design and Construction Jury marks the end of the Sixth Semester and the successful completion of the Third Year for the B.Arch. students. As they prepare to enter their Fourth Year, the students carry forward valuable learning experiences and a stronger foundation for tackling more complex architectural and urban challenges in the future.
