On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Axis Institute of Higher Education (AIHE) and AIPM, under the aegis of Axis Colleges, organised an engaging and insightful “Gandhian Management Challenge” to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and introduce students to the relevance of Gandhian philosophy in contemporary management.
The event was designed as an experiential learning activity, providing students with an opportunity to understand and apply values such as truth, non-violence, ethical conduct, simplicity, empathy, responsible leadership, and social responsibility in practical management situations.
As part of the challenge, students participated in team-based role plays, case-based situations, presentations, and interactive activities. The participants addressed various real-life workplace and business situations, including employee conflicts, customer complaints, unethical business practices, workplace discrimination, misuse of authority, and misleading advertisements. Through these situations, students demonstrated how Gandhian principles can be used to develop ethical, peaceful, and sustainable solutions.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation and impressive performances by the students. Participants displayed remarkable confidence, creativity, teamwork, communication skills, problem-solving ability, and managerial understanding. Their efforts transformed theoretical management concepts into engaging real-world learning experiences.
The organising team appreciated all the participating students for their dedication, preparation, active involvement, and commendable performances. The students were encouraged to carry these values beyond the classroom and incorporate them into their academic, professional, and personal lives.
The Gandhian Management Challenge successfully combined value-based education with experiential management learning, reinforcing the message that effective leadership is not merely about achieving organisational goals but also about maintaining integrity, respecting people, resolving conflicts peacefully, and contributing positively to society.
The event concluded with appreciation for all participants and a renewed commitment to promoting ethical, responsible, and value-driven leadership among future management professionals.
