Axis Colleges Conducts CPR Workshop to Empower Pharmacy Students in Life-Saving Skills
In a progressive step toward health education and emergency preparedness, Axis Colleges organized a one-day workshop on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for its Pharmacy students. This vital initiative aimed to equip students with essential first-aid skills that can make the difference between life and death in emergency situations.
The workshop was conducted under the esteemed guidance of the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS)—a prestigious division operating under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Their expertise and commitment to public health provided an excellent foundation for this interactive and educational session.
With a clear focus on empowerment through knowledge, the workshop aimed to:
- Enhance understanding of CPR techniques and procedures,
- Emphasize the urgency and value of timely medical intervention,
- Raise awareness about the critical role of first responders in everyday life.
Students were introduced to the ABCs of CPR, learned about the chain of survival, and participated in hands-on demonstrations to perform chest compressions and rescue breaths effectively. Practical, instructor-led training helped solidify these life-saving techniques, ensuring students were not only informed but confident in their ability to act during real-life emergencies.
The session also addressed common scenarios where CPR is essential—ranging from cardiac arrest to choking and drowning incidents—and how immediate action can significantly improve survival outcomes.
This workshop aligns with Axis Colleges’ commitment to producing not only academically proficient graduates but also socially responsible individuals capable of contributing positively to community health and safety. By empowering Pharmacy students with practical life-saving skills, the institution continues to bridge the gap between healthcare education and real-world impact.
