Educational Visit at CIMAP Axis Colleges Organizes Educational Visit to CIMAP Lucknow for Pharmacy Students

Axis Colleges recently organized an insightful educational visit to the Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CIMAP), Lucknow, for its pharmacy students, providing them with a valuable opportunity to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical experience.

During this visit, students were introduced to a diverse range of commercially viable Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (MAPs) that play a vital role in both industry and society. They learned to identify these plants and understand their significance in pharmaceutical and herbal product development.

CIMAP’s state-of-the-art infrastructure, including a multidisciplinary laboratory and the well-maintained Manav Garden, served as an ideal learning environment. Students explored advanced instrumentation facilities used in the research and production of herbal products, gaining hands-on exposure to cutting-edge technologies.

One of the highlights of the visit was the practical understanding students gained about pilot-scale processing units and various extraction technologies employed for Medicinal and Aromatic Plants. They observed firsthand how raw plant materials are processed and converted into useful extracts, essential for the formulation of herbal medicines.

Additionally, students delved into the analysis of secondary metabolites, the bioactive compounds responsible for the therapeutic properties of medicinal plants. This experience deepened their grasp of phytochemical evaluation techniques, crucial for quality control and product development.

The educational visit to CIMAP exemplifies Axis Colleges’ commitment to enhancing practical knowledge and preparing students for real-world challenges in pharmacy and herbal product industries. By exposing students to advanced research and development processes, Axis continues to foster a holistic learning atmosphere that integrates science, innovation, and industry relevance.
