Axis Institute of Pharmacy Spreads “Health For All” on World Health Day Through Rural Health Awareness Program

Axis Colleges has always recognized the vital role of health in shaping a better society. Embracing this responsibility, the Pharmakon Society in collaboration with the Institutions Innovation Council (IIC) of the Axis Institute of Pharmacy organized a door-to-door free health awareness program in Salempur village, Kanpur, on April 7, 2023, to commemorate World Health Day under the global theme “Health For All.”

This community outreach program was designed to raise awareness among rural residents about basic health care, nutrition, and mental well-being. Supported by dedicated faculty members, the enthusiastic pharmacy students led the campaign by conducting free health checkups, offering personalized nutrition advice, and educating the locals on the importance of preventive healthcare and balanced living.

One of the highlights of the event was a street play performed by the students, focusing on mental health awareness—a topic of immense relevance in today’s fast-paced, stressful world. The engaging performance shed light on common mental health issues, their symptoms, preventive measures, and treatment options, effectively delivering the message in a relatable and impactful manner.

The villagers of Salempur expressed their joy and gratitude for the initiative. For many, it was their first exposure to such informative interaction with healthcare students and professionals. The camp helped them understand the importance of a nutritious diet, hygiene, regular health monitoring, and mental wellness—all of which are fundamental to leading a healthy life.

Axis Colleges takes pride in its students who are not only growing academically but also contributing meaningfully to society. The event truly embodied the spirit of “Health for All”, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to community service and holistic education.
