Stage 1 Architectural Design Jury Presentation by B.Arch 5th Year Bachelor of Architecture.
The 5th Year Bachelor of Architecture students of the Axis Institute of Architecture recently presented their Stage 1 Jury on Literature Study and Case Study of Hospitals, demonstrating their ability to translate architectural research into practical design understanding.
As an integral part of their academic journey, the students undertook detailed literature studies and real-world hospital case studies to understand the complexities involved in healthcare architecture. Their field visits provided valuable hands-on exposure, allowing them to observe hospital planning, circulation, functionality, user movement, spatial relationships, services and day-to-day operational requirements beyond what can be understood through textbooks alone.
During the study, students explored various aspects of hospital design, including planning standards, zoning, departments, services, amenities, patient and staff circulation, accessibility, safety requirements and functional relationships between different spaces. These observations were then systematically analyzed and incorporated into their jury presentations.
The Stage 1 Jury provided students with an opportunity to present their research, observations and architectural insights before the jury panel. Through drawings, diagrams, analytical studies and case-study documentation, they demonstrated their understanding of how theoretical principles and established standards influence the planning and design of healthcare facilities.
The jury also became an important learning platform, where students received constructive feedback, identified gaps in their analysis and corrected portions of their work based on expert guidance. Such interaction encouraged them to critically evaluate their own design approach and develop a stronger foundation for the stages ahead.
At Axis Institute of Architecture, learning architecture goes beyond classrooms and conventional theory. Exposure to real projects, site-based observations, case studies and expert reviews helps students understand the realities of architectural practice and prepares them to approach complex design problems with greater clarity and confidence.
The Stage 1 Jury marked an important milestone for the students, strengthening their research, analytical and presentation skills while giving them the confidence to move forward into the next phase of their hospital design process.
