Axis College’s Civil Engineering Department Celebrates Engineers’ Day with Creative and Technical Events
The Civil Engineering Department of Axis College celebrates Engineers’ Day with enthusiasm and active participation through a special event titled “Nirman 2026 – Celebrating the Spirit of Civil Engineering.”
The event features two engaging competitions, “Tower Titans” and “Civil Canvas”, designed to provide students with an opportunity to showcase their creativity, technical understanding, teamwork, and innovative thinking.
The event brings together students from the Civil Engineering Department in an interactive learning environment. Through Tower Titans, students explore the fundamentals of structural stability by designing and constructing towers and observing how different structural arrangements influence their strength, balance, and stability.
The activity helps students connect classroom concepts with practical applications while encouraging problem-solving and teamwork.
The second event, Civil Canvas, focuses on creativity and awareness through poster-making based on the theme of Sustainable Development. Students present their ideas on sustainable practices, environmental responsibility, and the role of civil engineering in creating a sustainable future.
The activity encourages students to think beyond conventional engineering solutions and understand the importance of sustainability in modern infrastructure development.
HOD, Civil Engineering, Md. Shariq, remains present throughout the event and interacts with the students. He explains the significance of Engineers’ Day, why it is celebrated, and the important contribution of engineers towards the development and progress of society. He also motivates students to develop practical skills, creativity, innovation, and a sense of responsibility as future engineers.
The activities under Nirman 2026 provide students with valuable experiential learning while making Engineers’ Day meaningful and engaging. The event successfully combines technical knowledge, creativity, sustainability, and teamwork, reflecting the true spirit of civil engineering and inspiring students to approach engineering challenges with confidence and innovation.
