Green Earth Challenge Orientation to Promote Sustainability Among Students
Students from Architecture, Interior Design, Fashion and Engineering Departments Participate in an Interactive Sustainability Awareness Session
Axis Institute of Architecture organised an engaging orientation session on the Green Earth Challenge in collaboration with the Prem Jain Memorial Trust (PJMT) and the Young Leaders for Active Citizenship (YLAC) team.
Students from the Axis Institute of Architecture, Interior Design, Fashion and Engineering actively participated in the programme, gaining valuable insights into sustainability, environmental responsibility and the importance of collective action.
The orientation began with a thoughtful gesture symbolising the institution’s commitment to environmental conservation. Ar. Abhijeet Pratap Singh, Head of the Department of Architecture, presented saplings to the guests, while Md. Shariq, Head of B.Tech Civil Engineering, also offered saplings to the visiting guests. The gesture set an appropriate tone for the session and reinforced the importance of nurturing and protecting the environment.
The orientation was conducted in the presence of Mr. Yatendra Malik, PJMT; Ms. Anvita Parmar, Program Officer, YLAC; and Ms. Divya Yadav, Program Officer, YLAC, who engaged with students and introduced them to the vision and objectives of the Green Earth Challenge.
The session focused on helping students understand the growing importance of sustainability in everyday life and professional practices.
The speakers highlighted how small, consistent actions can contribute to addressing environmental concerns and encouraged students to become more conscious of their surroundings, consumption patterns and responsibility towards the environment.
The visiting team also introduced students to the Green Earth Challenge, explaining its purpose, participation process, registration procedure and the various activities associated with the initiative.
Particular emphasis was placed on the Clean-Up Challenge, encouraging students to identify environmental concerns within their communities and take practical steps towards creating cleaner and more sustainable spaces.
The interdisciplinary participation of students from Architecture, Interior Design, Fashion and Engineering provided an opportunity to understand sustainability from diverse perspectives. Students were encouraged to explore how sustainable thinking can be incorporated into design, construction, lifestyle, technology and other areas of their future professional practice.
The orientation served as an informative and interactive platform for students to learn about environmental responsibility while understanding how individual and collective efforts can create meaningful change.
The session also motivated students to actively participate in the Green Earth Challenge and contribute their ideas and efforts towards building a more sustainable future.
Through such initiatives, Axis Colleges continues to encourage students to move beyond classroom learning and engage with contemporary environmental and social challenges, fostering responsible, aware and action-oriented future professionals.
