VLCC Editorial Makeup Workshop at Axis Institute of Fashion Technology
Axis Institute of Fashion Technology (AIFT), Axis Colleges Kanpur, hosted an engaging VLCC Editorial Makeup Workshop on September 21, 2026, in partnership with VLCC School of Beauty, Kakadeo, Kanpur. The event aimed to give students hands-on experience with professional makeup techniques and explore the creative aspects of editorial beauty.
Led by Shubhi Awasthi, head from VLCC Institute of Beauty Kakadeo and supported by the VLCC team, the session highlighted the significance of makeup in fashion and beauty, showing how it can enhance visual appeal.
Students learned the basics of editorial makeup, including skin prep, base, eye makeup, contouring, highlighting, colour coordination, and finishing details. Practical demonstrations showed how makeup can be customised for different themes, garments, styling, lighting, and photography requirements.
Editorial makeup is vital to fashion communication, enhancing clothing, accessories, hairstyles, and the overall creative vision of a shoot. The workshop prompted students to view makeup not only as a beauty ritual but also as a key element of fashion styling and visual storytelling.
The hands-on experience enabled students to observe professional techniques up close and understand industry standards. These workshops bridge classroom learning and real-world application by exposing students to industry experts from the beauty and fashion sectors.
The partnership between AIFT and VLCC demonstrates the institute’s commitment to providing students with experiential learning, skill-building, and industry engagement.
