Bachelor of Architecture Students Successfully Complete Architectural Design Jury, Marking the End of Their First Academic Year

Kanpur, June 2026: The Department of Architecture at Axis Institute of Architecture, Axis Colleges, proudly witnessed a significant academic achievement as the students of the Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) program successfully completed their External Architectural Design Jury Viva, marking the culmination of their Second Semester and the successful completion of their First Year of architectural education.

The Architectural Design Jury is one of the most crucial academic exercises in architectural education, providing students with an opportunity to present and defend their design projects before a panel of esteemed external jurors comprising experienced academicians and practicing architects. The jury evaluated students on various parameters, including conceptual development, design thinking, planning efficiency, technical understanding, presentation skills, and analytical approach.

During the jury sessions, students confidently showcased their semester-long design projects through comprehensive presentations. They presented their design concepts, site analysis, planning methodology, functional zoning, spatial organization, sections, elevations, and detailed architectural drawings. Along with graphical presentations, students also displayed meticulously crafted architectural models, demonstrating their understanding of scale, form, proportion, and three-dimensional visualization.

A major highlight of the jury was the students’ ability to explain the complete design process, beginning from conceptual ideation and site analysis to the development of final design solutions. They discussed their planning strategies, circulation patterns, user requirements, environmental considerations, and design rationale in detail. The presentations reflected a strong emphasis on analytical thinking, creative problem-solving, and the application of fundamental architectural principles learned during the first year.

The external jurors appreciated the dedication, creativity, and hard work demonstrated by the students. They engaged in insightful discussions with the budding architects, offering constructive feedback on design development, presentation techniques, and future areas of improvement. The interaction provided students with valuable professional exposure and enhanced their understanding of architectural practice and design evaluation.

Faculty members of the department expressed their satisfaction with the overall performance of the students and commended their consistent efforts throughout the academic session.

They emphasized that the successful completion of the first-year design jury signifies the development of a strong foundation in architectural design, representation, and critical thinking.

Congratulating the students on their accomplishment, the department encouraged them to continue exploring innovative design solutions, sustainable architectural practices, and advanced technological tools in the years ahead.

The successful completion of the External Jury Viva marks not only the end of the second semester but also the beginning of a promising journey toward becoming skilled and responsible architects.

With this milestone achieved, the first-year B.Arch. students celebrated the successful completion of their jury and looked forward to new learning experiences and creative challenges in the upcoming semesters.
