 Beyond Boundaries – AITM Together with Raywings Learning Campus, Axis Colleges recently put together an interesting and career-focused session with Mr. Venkatesh Neelam, who is the Principal Talent Advisor and TA Site Programs Lead at Atlassian, a global leader in software development and communication tools.
The session, which was meant to help students learn about how jobs in technology and innovation are changing, was inspiring and educational for everyone who went. Mr. Neelam gave us a lot of useful information about what top tech companies like Atlassian look for in engineering grads today. This was possible because he had a lot of experience in the field and was very good at hiring people.
Mr. Neelam spoke to a room full of aspiring engineers about important industry trends, new job roles, the need for cross-functional skills, and the value of having a growth attitude. He also talked about how important it is to be flexible, creative, communicate well, and work together to solve problems in fast-paced workplaces.
Mr. Neelam’s advice on how to make a great professional profile, from how to write a resume to how to do well in interviews and how to use sites like LinkedIn and GitHub to network and show off your skills, was one of the session’s main highlights. To stay competitive in a global job market, he told students to focus on hands-on learning, internships, contributing to open source projects, and always getting better.
During the whole session, students took part in Q&A sessions where they asked questions about job planning, personal branding, and how to deal with problems in the tech world. Mr. Neelam clearly answered every question and shared stories and experiences that hit home with the crowd.
Members of the faculty praised the workshop for being useful and important, as it perfectly fit with Axis Colleges’ mission to prepare students not only academically but also professionally for problems they will face in the real world. The partnership with Raywings Learning Campus showed once more that the school is dedicated to giving students access to thought leaders, global chances, and people working in the field.
