Bachelors of Fashion & Apparel Design (BFAD) Six semester Practical Jury Concludes at Axis Institute of Fashion Technology, Kanpur
The Sixth Semester Bachelor of Fashion & Apparel Design (BFAD) Jury was conducted to assess students’ Advanced design, Technical expertise, and Understanding of Fashion Product development. An esteemed industry expert led the evaluation. The jury gave students a platform to showcase creative vision, innovation, craftsmanship, and readiness for the fashion industry.
In “Leather Design & Development,” students conceptualized and created innovative leather products. They focused on functionality, aesthetics, and craftsmanship. Their work showed understanding of material properties, construction, detailing, and current market trends.
The subject “Design & Development of Knitwear Products” highlighted students’ knowledge of knit structures, fabric behavior, and product innovation. Through creative design solutions, students successfully developed knitwear collections that showcased originality, technical understanding, and an awareness of current fashion demands.
The “Integrated Design Project” served as a comprehensive representation of the students’ learning journey and creative growth. Students effectively integrated research, concept development, market analysis, design exploration, material selection, technical development, and presentation skills into well-executed final projects that reflected both creativity and professionalism.
In “Pattern Grading,” students exhibited their technical proficiency in size development and garment scaling. Their work demonstrated accuracy, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of industry-standard grading techniques essential for mass production and apparel manufacturing.
The subject “Advanced Photography & Styling” enabled students to explore fashion communication through visual storytelling. Students showcased their skills in fashion styling, composition, lighting, creative direction, and photography, producing impactful visuals that effectively conveyed design concepts and brand narratives.
“Design & Development of Indian Wear” focused on exploring traditional aesthetics in combination with contemporary design approaches. Students presented innovative Indian-wear collections that reflected cultural inspiration, craftsmanship, fabric knowledge, silhouette development, and modern market relevance.
Overall, The Sixth Semester Jury reflected the students’ dedication, creativity, technical competence, and professional growth throughout the BFAD programme. Their presentations demonstrated confidence, originality, problem-solving abilities, and a strong understanding of industry expectations. The External Jury highly appreciated the students’ innovative concepts, quality of execution, and presentation skills, while also commending the department for its commitment to academic excellence and industry-oriented practical learning.
