Creative Design Collection Showcase by Bachelors of Fashion & Apparel Design (B.FAD) 8th Semester Students Practical Jury Concludes at Axis Institute of Fashion Technology, Kanpur
The Bachelor of fashion & Apparel Design (BFAD) 8th Semester students recently showcased their final design collections, presenting a wide range of creative ideas inspired by nature, culture, sustainability, and modern fashion concepts. Every student developed a unique theme and transformed their inspiration into wearable designs through research, experimentation, and innovative textile techniques. The Jury, assessed by an industry expert, provided students with an excellent platform to present their creativity, craftsmanship, and overall development as future fashion professionals.
The objective of this collection project is to help students understand the complete design journey from idea development and conceptual research to fabric exploration and final garment creation. It allows students to express their individual creativity while also learning professional approaches to fashion and textile design. The project encourages originality, critical thinking, and practical execution, preparing students for the fashion industry.
Among the showcased works was a collection based on sustainable fashion practices. Her theme, “Chaal”, focused on the beauty of natural dyeing and eco-conscious textile methods. Another collection, based on her theme “Dawn to Dusk”, was inspired by the magic between twilight and starlight. The collection flows effortlessly from warm sun-kissed hues to deep celestial blues, made for those who shine beautifully at every hour.
Several other students also explored diverse concepts through experimental fabrics, handcrafted techniques, and contemporary silhouettes. Their collections demonstrated creativity, craftsmanship, and thoughtful storytelling through design. The exhibition served as a platform for students to present their artistic vision and technical skills. More importantly, it highlighted how young designers are using fashion not only as a creative medium but also as a way to promote innovation, sustainability, and meaningful expression in today’s design world.
