Axis Colleges Organizes Educational Jaipur Visit for Fashion Students

Axis Colleges recently organized an enriching educational trip to Jaipur for its fashion students, blending cultural exploration with a hands-on learning experience. The two-day journey was carefully designed to provide students with deeper insights into traditional Indian textile techniques and the rich cultural heritage of Rajasthan.

The highlight of the visit was an intensive Hand Block Printing Workshop conducted by Mr. Hemant Sethia, a renowned artisan in the field. During the workshop, students gained first-hand experience in various traditional techniques such as block printing, natural dyeing, Dabu printing, and the Indigo pit method. They learned how natural elements like turmeric, pomegranate, and indigo can be used to create eco-friendly dyes and how these are applied through age-old methods to produce exquisite prints on fabric. This practical exposure not only enriched their academic knowledge but also enhanced their understanding of sustainable and eco-conscious fashion practices.

The trip also included visits to some of Jaipur’s most iconic landmarks, enabling students to immerse themselves in India’s rich cultural and architectural heritage. They explored the Hawa Mahal, known for its unique façade and intricate latticework, and Jantar Mantar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its astronomical instruments. Students also visited the serene Jal Mahal, a palace floating in the middle of Man Sagar Lake, and the majestic Amer Fort and Jaigarh Fort, both celebrated for their magnificent Rajput architecture and historical significance.

These cultural visits offered students valuable inspiration for design aesthetics, color palettes, and motifs that reflect the grandeur and tradition of Indian heritage. Observing the intricate carvings, royal structures, and artistic murals helped them understand how history, culture, and fashion are intricately interwoven.

The Jaipur visit was a holistic learning experience that combined hands-on skill development with cultural appreciation. Axis Colleges believes in providing such real-world exposure to help students become well-rounded professionals in the fashion industry. The trip not only fostered creativity and innovation but also instilled in students a deep respect for India’s traditional arts and crafts.
