Learning through Doing

Diploma interior design students present innovative solutions to major product design challenges and created there own self made furnitures

At Axis Institute of Architecture, under Axis Colleges, students of the Diploma in Interior Design have successfully demonstrated their design thinking and creativity through an engaging and challenging academic assignment centered on property and product design. This initiative, conducted as part of the Diploma in Creative Design Marketing program, aimed to bridge the gap between conceptual learning and real-world application.

Guided by faculty member Vanshika Agarwal, the students were introduced to a major product design problem that required them to carefully analyze user needs, spatial constraints, and functional requirements. The assignment encouraged them to think beyond conventional solutions and explore innovative, user-centric designs that respond effectively to contemporary lifestyle demands. From initial concept development to final presentation, each stage of the process emphasized critical thinking, research, and hands-on experimentation.

The students showcased a diverse range of design proposals, each reflecting unique perspectives and creative approaches. Their work incorporated elements such as sustainable materials, ergonomic considerations, and aesthetic harmony, highlighting their awareness of current industry trends. The integration of property-related aspects further enhanced the complexity of the task, as students had to ensure that their product designs complemented spatial environments while maintaining practicality and visual appeal.

Throughout the project, Vanshika Agarwal provided continuous mentorship, encouraging students to refine their ideas, improve their technical drawings, and present their concepts with clarity and confidence. Her guidance played a crucial role in helping students understand the importance of design feasibility, market relevance, and effective communication.

The final presentations were a testament to the students’ dedication and growth, showcasing their ability to tackle complex design challenges with professionalism and innovation. This exercise not only strengthened their design skills but also prepared them for future opportunities in the field of interior and product design.

This newsreel highlights the commitment of Axis Institute of Architecture to nurturing creative talent and equipping students with the skills required to excel in the dynamic world of design.
