Axis Colleges Hosts Comprehensive Pharmacovigilance Workshop in Collaboration with Raywings Learning Campus

The Institutions’ Innovation Council (IIC) of Axis Colleges, in collaboration with Raywings Learning Campus, recently organized a highly engaging and informative Pharmacovigilance Workshop tailored specifically for its Pharmacy students. The initiative was designed to shed light on the growing importance of pharmacovigilance in the dynamic world of pharmaceuticals and healthcare.

The session was skillfully led by Mr. Mohd. Shahnawaz Khan, a seasoned Business Analyst, whose deep industry knowledge and interactive teaching approach created a rich learning environment for all attendees. His insights provided students with both theoretical clarity and practical understanding of the subject.

The core objective of the workshop was to emphasize Pharmacovigilance as a cornerstone of patient safety and drug monitoring, an area of increasing significance for future professionals in the pharmaceutical domain. Participants were introduced to the fundamental concepts such as Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs), Adverse Events (AEs), and Side Effects (SEs)—all crucial in ensuring the safe use of medications in real-world scenarios.

One of the workshop’s highlights was the hands-on experience with specialized Pharmacovigilance Software. Students navigated through key functional modules of the software, including:

  • General
  • Patient
  • Product
  • Event
  • Analysis
  • Regulatory Report

This practical exposure enabled students to understand the workflow and protocols followed in real-time drug safety monitoring systems. Such tools are extensively used by professionals to maintain compliance with national and international regulatory standards, ensuring that any risk associated with pharmaceutical products is identified and mitigated efficiently.

This workshop not only expanded the academic horizon of our Pharmacy students but also prepared them for the real challenges and responsibilities they will face in the healthcare industry. Axis Colleges remains committed to providing such forward-thinking and career-oriented learning opportunities that empower students with both knowledge and applicable skills.
