Axis Colleges Organizes Industrial Visit to Furo Sports (House of Red Chief) for Management Students

In line with its commitment to experiential learning and industry exposure, Axis Colleges organized an enriching industrial visit for its management students to Furo Sports (House of Red Chief) on 20th May 2023. The visit was designed to provide students with hands-on experience in modern business practices and operational excellence through real-time observation and interaction with industry professionals.

During the visit, students were introduced to the Kaizen philosophy, a Japanese concept that focuses on continuous improvement through small, incremental changes that enhance productivity and efficiency. A major highlight of the visit was the detailed study of the 5S methodology of Kaizen, which includes:

  • Seiri (Sort): Eliminate unnecessary items from the workplace.
  • Seiton (Set in Order): Arrange essential items in order to enhance workflow.
  • Seiso (Shine): Maintain cleanliness to ensure a productive environment.
  • Seiketsu (Standardize): Establish consistent practices and standards.
  • Shitsuke (Sustain): Build a culture of maintaining and improving standards.

This framework emphasizes not just organization and cleanliness but also instills a culture of discipline and accountability, essential for sustainable operational success. The students witnessed firsthand how these principles are applied in real manufacturing environments and contribute to the brand’s renowned quality and performance.

Professionals from Furo Sports elaborated on how Kaizen and 5S play a crucial role in ensuring quality control, employee engagement, and continual operational improvements. They highlighted that productivity enhancement is not a one-time change but a systematic and ongoing process, where everyone from the top management to floor-level workers is involved.

The industrial visit proved to be an eye-opener for management students, as it bridged the gap between academic theory and real-world business practices. It allowed them to appreciate how lean manufacturing and continuous improvement models are practically implemented in high-performing organizations.

Axis Colleges remains dedicated to offering such value-driven learning opportunities that shape students into future-ready professionals equipped with industry knowledge and strategic thinking.
