Bachelors of Fashion & Apparel Design Eight semester Practical Jury Concludes at Axis Institute of Fashion Technology Kanpur
The Fourth-Year Bachelors of Fashion & Apparel Design Jury was held to assess students’ Advanced design capabilities, Professional skills, Creative innovation, and comprehensive understanding of the fashion industry. Evaluated by an esteemed industry expert, the jury provided students with an exceptional opportunity to showcase their creativity, technical expertise, research abilities, and professional growth as aspiring fashion designers and industry professionals.
The Design Collection served as the highlight of the jury, allowing students to conceptualize and develop complete fashion collections based on extensive research and creative exploration. Students successfully integrated trend forecasting, concept development, fabric selection, fashion illustration, pattern making, garment construction, and styling into cohesive and professionally executed collections. Their presentations reflected innovation, craftsmanship, and a strong individual design identity.
In Fashion Accessories, students demonstrated their creativity and design sensibilities by developing innovative accessory collections. Their work explored materials, forms, embellishments, and functionality, reflecting a strong understanding of contemporary trends, consumer preferences, and market requirements.
The Visual Merchandising subject focused on students’ ability to create impactful retail environments and effective product displays. Through window displays, store layouts, and presentation concepts, students showcased their understanding of branding, consumer psychology, and visual communication while creating engaging retail experiences.
Corporate Design and Fashion Industry enabled students to develop a deeper understanding of the business aspects of fashion. Students presented research-based projects related to brand development, marketing strategies, fashion entrepreneurship, and industry practices.
Their work reflected analytical thinking, professional awareness, and a strong understanding of the evolving fashion market.
In the Art Portfolio, students compiled and presented a comprehensive collection of their creative work, highlighting their artistic journey, technical skills, and design development.
The portfolios demonstrated originality, versatility, and a well-curated presentation of their achievements across various disciplines of fashion design.
Overall, the Fourth Year Jury reflected the students’ dedication, creativity, technical excellence, and readiness to enter the professional fashion industry. Their projects and presentations demonstrated confidence, originality, critical thinking, and a mature understanding of design and business practices.
The External Jury highly appreciated the students’ commitment, innovative concepts, and quality of execution, while also commending the department for maintaining high academic standards and providing industry-oriented learning experiences throughout the BFAD programme.
