Teaching Through Case StudiesAxis Colleges Hosts Faculty Knowledge Sharing Program on Case-Based Teaching and Academic Research

Axis Colleges continues to uphold its commitment to academic excellence and faculty development through impactful initiatives. A recent milestone in this journey was the organization of a thought-provoking Faculty Knowledge Sharing Program (FKSP) at Axis Institute of Higher Education (AIHE). Themed around “Teaching Through Case Studies” and “Research & Publications: Pathway to Success in the Academic World,” the session was led by the eminent academician Dr. Vipin Khurana, Dean, IBS-Gurgaon.

The program provided an enriching platform for faculty members to explore the dynamic and highly effective pedagogy of case-based learning. Dr. Khurana emphasized the importance of using real-world business scenarios to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical application, especially in management and business education. Faculty members were guided on selecting relevant and contemporary case studies that align with students’ interests and current industry challenges.

Participants learned how case studies not only make classroom learning more engaging but also sharpen students’ analytical, decision-making, and critical thinking skills. The session also offered actionable insights into how to lead thoughtful, participative classroom discussions, assess students’ contributions effectively, and use case studies to drive experiential learning outcomes.

In the second half of the session, Dr. Khurana turned the focus toward academic research and publication, offering a roadmap for faculty to engage in scholarly work. From identifying impactful research areas to selecting the right journals and enhancing citation impact, the session provided a comprehensive guide to succeeding in the academic world. He also highlighted how consistent research efforts and quality publications significantly enhance an educator’s academic portfolio and institutional reputation.

This initiative not only deepened faculty understanding of innovative teaching strategies but also encouraged a strong research culture on campus. The FKSP served as a catalyst for continuous professional growth and reaffirmed Axis Colleges’ dedication to academic innovation, excellence, and student success.
